It is my big (no not as in horizontally challenged) sister's birthday today.
So I'm going to wish her a super duper happy birthday on my blog. Not that I haven't already facebooked her and am waiting til later this evening to sing to her on the phone. hehe
Yes super embarrassing times but I do love family!
So while we're waiting to sing to her, I thought I'd write a little speech for her (yup she gets a special speech from me) before we raise a toast to her... (getting older...cough cough *grins*)
Look... we even have the champagne ready.
So here we go.
My sister is my best friend. Yes, we are family but not all siblings end up being good mates. I know I can always count on her and she knows she will always be able to count on the fact that I will always be messier and younger than her. But she has been there for me through good and bad times, picked me up, kicked my behind and told me to keep going. Without her, I would not be where I currently am.
Sure, I am sadly lacking in her super duper organisational skills but thanks to her, my room is now cleaner than it used to be (note: clean-ER!)
While we have the odd "discussion" on occasion where we totally disagree with what the other person is saying, I love the fact that we always become friends again. Over food or something. Yup, if there is one thing that we both love, it is food.
Aimee cooks AMAZING food.
While there are many talents that most people are aware of such as her cooking, teaching, organisation, linguistics, partying skills etc. Aimee is also a great listener who loves her friends, goes out of her way for others and will generally say yes rather than disappoint. She has always looked out for me and continues to exude her influence all the way over oceans and landforms. I am proud to call her my sister.
And if you'll please charge your glasses. To Aimee.
