It's been declined?!?!?! That's not possible!
So I rang the customer service line to close a bank account I didn't use/need anymore. No problem he says - confirms the details, lah di dah we're all good. Quick, happy, painless experience for the customer.
Until my card gets declined at the shops. Oh oh. I smell a big fat... problem.
I go into a branch - they say oh this account is closed. Yes, one account is meant to be but it's NOT the account THIS card is linked to. Oh but that account is open she says. ERR..WHAT?!?!
Anyway, after much contention that there is no such card (hmm... I seem to have it in front of me...), ringing back and forth (because the people at the branch are not authorised to unblock the card, only those on the phone can) and wasted time on hold (AGAIN!!), I have finally been told it's "unblocked" (thanks to the helpful lady at the desk).
Ok. Let's hope that's the end of it.
