UBank are definitely NOT my favourite bank.

Issue:  Tried verifying my account online.  Locked me out cos I supposedly provided the wrong info.  Ok.  Found some time, got my paperwork together, went to the Australia Post, had the documents sighted, etc.  All happy.  Waiting for the green light.

Two weeks later.  Account is still unverified.  Still no sign of paperwork.

Ring them on Skype.  Wait 5 minutes.  Call cut out within 2 (pity cos that dude seemed pretty on the money- yes you can say I'm not a very nice person or whatever, I'm really annoyed right now).

Ring back.  Wait another 15 minutes.  Reexplain the situation to another dude who I'm sure was doing his best but didn't quite seem as much on the ball as the other.  Quickly, it is ascertained - paper work has been deemed lost.

15 minutes later...

UBank Call Centre: We are an online bank so we don't do face to face with our customers.  I'm sure you understand that. But, you will need to go into an Australia Post outlet in order to verify your identification as they will need to sight your documents.

Oh and you can't close down an account.  Until your identification has been verified.  No we have absolutely no control as the computer runs it.  No.  Oh, you should send it in by registered post the next time.

Needless to say, I am not a very happy person right now.  I would like to kick some ass.

Oh and the worst thing you can say to a customer who is complaining is, I totally understand your pain and then start telling me about the time when this and this went wrong for you.  Err... I don't get paid to listen to your sob story and I am definitely not feeling very compassionate right about now.  Agh!

Thanks for reading this far.  I'm surprised you made it.

Oh, listen to Gotye - Thanks For Your Time.  About call centres.  But a VERY cool song.
