Japan Pt 1

righteo.. lotsa things are going through my mind right now so I'll try to remember and let you know all about what has happened on this trip so far.

I've been in Japan just over 41 hours now and it's been pretty fantastic. As some of you know, I had a layover in Singapore on Friday night and spent my time facebooking, emailing and eating laksa and drinking barley. Wow... I really miss barley or rather the ability to walk into any coffee shop in Malaysia or Singapore and order a nice steaming mug of barley. Mmmmm... BEST drink ever! The flight was ok. I watched Juno and PS-I love you. Both were entertaining. Anyone else seen them? Let me know what you thought.

Arrived at 8am and was on the bus to Aimee's place in Moriguchi by 9:35am. What was supposed to be an 80 min trip turned into a 61 min (yes he was SPEEDING!) but was a rather pleasant introduction to the day. Met some of Aimee's mates from Perth- lovely people named Amanda, Goran and Suzie over some chinese buffet food and all u can drink for 1.5hrs before proceeding to karaoke the night away. The most eventful thing happened just as we were saying goodbye to our friends at Umeda station. Aimee realised that we were close to missing the last train so she insisted we run for it or get stuck there til the first trains at 5am. Craziness that I would probably not like to do again.

Today's forecast was rather gloomy- a top of 10 degrees and heavy rain for most of the day. Had most of the AM to recover but we spent the avo with another Perth JET's Cass and her family who are also here on holiday. We were in Kyoto visiting Heian Jingu which translates to the Peace Shrine and has amazing gardens surrounding a lake. The cherry blossoms aren't fully out yet as it has been colder this year but should be out in full bloom in a week or so. Looking forward to that.

Anyway, lots planned for the coming days so i'll keep u posted. Click on the photos on my facebook, let me know what you thinK!
