Food for thought

I'm pondering currently...
what's in life that makes you go on?

For some, its the money they could make from that job that they're aiming to get.
The need to have more zeros in the bank account and improve the current level of lifestyle is imperative to some.
For some, its the job itself, with all the perks, power, gatherings... and the social status to come.
But sometimes to get there, many other things are sacrificed, from families, to friends, fitness and heaps of other stuff.
For some, its the feeling of being happy, satisfied... managing to accomplish a dream, target... something that's been wanted for ages.
For some, its the chance of meeting new people, making friends and hanging out. Having someone to talk to, have fun with and making sure there's no time when you're by yourself and bored.

Sometimes its just nice to have someone who wants to listen to you, who wants to be there with you- nothing needs to be said, there's just a shared feeling of comfort, peace and just being able to be who you really are.

Then, there's that special someone, who brightens up your day... just the thought of them, or the mention of their name sends you into a dreamy sigh. You just want to spend all your time, energy, money... you name it- on them.

What makes you who you are? What drives you? Is it something that has been mentioned? Is it something else? Does it constantly change or stay the same til it has been achieved? What is it that makes people want to do something? What is the strongest motivator? Are they extrinsic or intrinsic motivators?

There is much in this world which is unexplained but it provides food for thought.
