John Mayer's a top guitarist. Totally and utterly amazing- his live show sounds as if its the CD playing although we all know that it was him cos there were so many bits that weren't part of the CD. Heaps of energy, charisma & charm, he carries the show leaving you wanting more. I can't wait till he comes back again- I think he's one of the few artists whom I'd go to every concert of.
Recording in a studio was a new experience. 5 of us who jam together went in and recorded two originals- very cool although it was a little nerve-wracking on my part. I seemed to continually play one very wrong, stand-out note in the first few takes somewhere in the solo bit... although as we progressed, suddenly i just didn't really take note even if i did. A grand total of 11 hours for those who stayed the whole time- Big Thanks to youse- you all know who you are- both Simmo's, Mc and Bintox, Caleb 'fro-man, J-Jam, Nicko, Kieran & course Nutella boy Fieldy. =) and Jessylou for her superb photo taking skills. Go the MZ-50 couldn't have been done without you. (yes it's the SLR)
Also, an interesting thing I have noted... if you ever have to take public transport home from a huge event, always if possible, wait at the stop before the "official stop". For example, I was at the cricket yesterday- Congrats to Alfie, our Wazzie who got 191 in the first innings vs the Pakis- and left at 6. Since it finished everyone seemed to have the same idea to get on the bus. I wasn't quite sure what made me think of it but looking at the massive crowds forming at the bus stop, i decided that I'd back-up to the preceding bus stop on route. The bus was amazingly full already (standing room left only) but at least I got on the bus. Sounds like a lot of hard work but hey, if you want to get home on time (i got home at 5 to 7), little things like that do help especially when 5,000 people decide to come on public transport, which isn't running extra services (yes that was a bit of a poke since they do extras for the footy and heapsa other events) and caters for peak hour traffic where office people are going home too.
AMP camp is gonna be superb... 5 days in sunny Busso, with kids, no sleep, hectic activities just sounds perfect doesn't it? ;) oh yeah, and how many sleeps til Christmas?? I'm not too sure but I know it's not long away
anyway, no updates till after Tuesday. Have a good one.
